Guide: trim and clean a voice recording

How to Use

1

Open your first clip

Choose a mono or stereo recording and wait for its waveform.

2

Shape the recording

Select a region to keep or delete. Append audio adds another file at the end, resampling it to match the first clip if necessary.

3

Adjust the sound

Set volume, pitch-preserving speed, fades, or tone. Click Apply settings to process the whole current edit.

4

Listen and save

Compare the original and current edit. Choose a format, prepare the download, and save it to your device.

A practical editor for everyday audio

Start with one recording, remove unwanted sections, and append another clip to assemble a sequence. This is a single-track editor: appended clips play one after another, rather than overlapping in a multitrack mix.

Delete a mistake from the middle

Set the start and end times around a mistake, then choose Delete selection. The audio before and after that region joins together. Preview the join; use Undo if it cuts a word too closely.

Join files with different properties

The first recording sets the sample rate. Appended audio is resampled when needed, and mono is duplicated into two channels when joined with stereo. Linear resampling is intended for quick edits, rather than mastering. Keep an original copy for professional production.

Change speed while preserving pitch

A speed of 1.25× shortens the recording; 0.8× slows it down. Apply settings to hear the result. The original recording remains available for comparison while the tab is open.

Real-World Examples & Use Cases

Append several short recordings into a sequential message.

Fix recording mistakes

Frequently Asked Questions

Which audio formats can I use?▼
Open MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A/AAC, OGG/Vorbis, Opus, AIFF, and WebM audio. Additional formats such as WMA and AMR depend on their codec and the available decoder. Export WAV, MP3, FLAC, M4A, AAC, OGG, or Opus. Protected files are unsupported.
Can I mix overlapping tracks?▼
This editor joins clips sequentially on a single track. It does not provide overlapping tracks or a multitrack mixer.
What does Apply settings change?▼
It processes the entire current edit. Keep a selection first if you only want to process that excerpt. Settings are reset after a successful application so the effect is not accidentally applied twice.
Is my recording uploaded to a server?▼
No. Decoding, editing, enhancement, and export run on your device. The audio engine downloads on first use, but your recording is not uploaded. Reloading or closing the tab ends your editing session.

Limits and assumptions

  • Up to 100 MB per input, 10 minutes per recording, and 128 MB of decoded mono or stereo samples. Device memory can impose a lower practical limit.
  • Codec support depends on the file contents, not just its extension. Protected, damaged, and unsupported recordings cannot be opened.
  • WAV exports use 16-bit PCM. Editing and compressed exports can change the source samples; converting to FLAC does not recover detail lost in an MP3.
  • Audio stays in this browser tab. Save your download before reloading or closing it. Undo history is limited to eight edits and a memory budget.
